MEET ED DELGADO.
Ed Delgado is a lifelong public servant who’s spent his career protecting others—with the badge, in uniform, and now in public office.
He served 10 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, including four years active duty and six in the reserves, where he learned discipline, leadership, and the foundations of law enforcement. After leaving the military, Ed joined the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, rising through the ranks over 25 years to become Assistant Sheriff, third in command under Sheriff Chad Bianco, overseeing the county’s Corrections Division.
In 2021, Ed was elected to the Moreno Valley City Council, representing District 2. He also serves as an Honorary Wing Commander at March Air Reserve Base, strengthening ties between the base and the local community. At the state level, he sits on the Public Safety Committee for the League of California Cities, where he fights for policies that protect families and restore order.
Ed and his wife Laurie have been married nearly 30 years and raised their three children in Moreno Valley. Laurie is a registered nurse of 34 years, and they’re proud grandparents of two.
Ed holds a Bachelor’s in Workforce Education from Southern Illinois University and a Master’s in Management from the University of Redlands. He’s also a graduate of the American Jail Association’s Jail Command Academy and a Certified Jail Manager.
From the Coast Guard to City Hall, Ed has always led with the same values: fairness, respect, and an unwavering commitment to the people he serves.
On The Issues
ED'S TOP 3 PRIORITIES:
PUBLIC SAFETY
Every citizen has the right to feel safe in their homes, schools, going to the park, walking in their neighborhood, or shopping at the mall. I have seen many business owners and citizens become victims and see no consequences for the people who commit crime in our communities.
After 25 years in L.E., I have seen first hand the criminals benefit from “soft on crime” laws in our state, and I want to change that.
Affordability
Every citizen should have a shot at a middle-class life. Our citizens should not have to move out of California to be able to afford a home, or have a great quality of life. I have seen family and friends move out of state, because they cannot afford to live in CA. and it’s just not fair, so I want to change that.
Two-Party State
California has created a one-party state, currently held by a super-majority of one party. If we had a two-party state, we would have checks and balances, but we have failed on this.
We need to ensure that one party does not have the veto-power to do whatever they want, and I want to start by getting elected to State Assembly, and represent the people not an “Agenda.”
